Twin Flames

Let’s give a warm welcome to Twin Flames, honored to know all our relatives are sharing love and beauty through music.
Despite polar opposite backgrounds Twin Flames found a common musical language. Twin Flames combines Jaaji an Inuk/Mohawk man from Nunavik and Chelsey June a Métis Woman from Ottawa. Together they take the audience on a musical journey across Canada and the Arctic, they sing songs in English, Inuktitut and French.

Twin Flames raging fire: This powerful duo won The Canadian Folk music award for Aboriginal Songwriters of the year 2016 and again in 2017. They are also winners of the Native American Music Awards 2018 for Best Folk Album “Signal Fire” and Best Duo. Their debut self-titled Album Jaaii & Chelsey June released December 2015 topped music charts with the song Porchlight which reached #1 on The National Aboriginal Music Countdown. Twin Flames were voted top indie band for Native Trailblazers radio 2016.
In June 2017 they released their much anticipated second album Signal Fire which earned them a consecutive win at the Canadian Folk Music Awards as Aboriginal Songwriters of the year at the 2017 and Two Native American Music Awards 2018 for Best Folk Album “Signal Fire” and Best Duo. Signal Fire has now recieved a tota lof 17 nominatios from several award platforms.
They have played over 800 shows in four years with performances that have taken them across Canada, the Arctic Greenland and the USA. Notable festivals include: Ottawa Bluesfest, Folk on the Rocks, Dragon Boat Festival, Toronto Indigenous Festival, Festival Mondial, Folk Harbour Festival, Adaka Culteral Festival , Alianait Festival and many more.
What started as small flame is turning into a raging fire one that is staying lit in the hearts of fans and listeners. Together they showcase the awesome power of music and its ability to connect people from all walks of life.
